Isojoki is divided into several fishing areas managed by village fishing associations. These rules apply only to the Isojoki centre (Isojoen Kirkonkylän) fishing association area. Fishing with this permit is not allowed in Villamo, Vanhakylä, or other village areas. The Isojoki centre fishing area ends downstream at Villamo-Heikkilä and upstream at Iivari-Polvenkylä.
There are two separate fishing areas in Isojoki centre: Kangasjärvi and the river. Separate permits are required for each. Here are the fishing area in a map.
Anyone under age of 15 can fish without a permit. Those 15 and older need a permit from the fishing association and possibly a fisheries management fee. The fee and permit must be carried and shown to fishing inspectors upon request.
Revenue from permit sales is used to support fishing in the area.
